Description:
Lucy is obsessed with monster stories, telling so many that her family and friends are getting sick of it, especially her brother Randy. So her mom tells her goes to the library to fill up her time during summer with her friend, Aaron. Lucy finds the librarian, Mr. Mortman somewhat eccentric. But she cannot quite put the finger on it...yet. When she realized that she forgot her Rollerblades, Lucy quickly runs back to the library after closing time. It is then that she witnesses the librarian transforming into a monster after eating some crickets. She tells her family and friend Aaron only to be met with skepticism. Lucy decides to visit the library again during closing hours to gain conclusive proof that the Mr. Mortman is in fact a monster. The librarian notices the camera flash and chases her throughout the library. Somehow, Lucy is able to escape the library and run home, only to have Mr. Mortman at the door minutes later! She forgot her backpack, so he came over to return it. Lucy demands he leave, so he does. The she convinces her parents to take her to the photo store to have the film processed. However, Mr. Mortman's monstrous form does not cast a reflection, which baffles Lucy. She bumps into him, together with the rest of her family outside the photo store. The parents mysteriously decide to invite the librarian over for dinner. After Mr. Mortman briefly talks with the parents, he asks them about dinner. Lucy's father casually tells him that he is the "dinner," which is why the parents invited him. Lucy's mother confirms this as she and her husband sprout fangs and transform into monsters to eat him alive. They then tell Lucy and Randy that no one can know that the parents are monsters and that there cannot be any other monsters living in their town except themselves. Aaron comes after the parents "invited" Mr. Mortman for dinner, completely unaware that Lucy and her entire family are monsters as well. |
